During the U.S. civil rights movement (1954-1968) Black leaders and their supporters fought to end racial injustice. One injustice, or something that is not fair or right, during this time was that buses were segregated. This meant that Black people were made to sit at the back of the bus, or stand if there were white people who needed seats. This biography tells about Claudette Colvin (1939-present), a civil rights activist, or someone who tries to make a change in the world.
